Recipe Marathon 2nd day -Sodhi

Sodhi is a thirunelveli dish. It is a very good combination for aapam & idiyappam

Ingredients

Mixed vegetables – 1.75cup

Sprouted moong – ¼ cup

Onion - 1

G.chilly - 2

Ginger – 3 cm

Spiltted moong dal(payatham paruppu) – ½ cup

Curry leaves – 5-7 counts

Coconut(grated) – 2 cup or 2.5 cups

Lemon – 1 no

Salt – as per taste

Oil – 1tsp

Jeera – ¼ tsp

Here I used carrot, beans, peas & sprouted moong together 2 cups.

Pressure cook the splitted moong upto 2-3 whistle. Take 1st & 2nd coconut milk by grinding it. grind g.chilly & ginger now take oil in a pan, add jeera & curry leaves. Add onion just sauté it for 5-10 seconds, then add mixed vegetables & grinded paste, stir it & add 2nd coconut milk. Let the vegetables cook for a while, finally add 1st coconut milk leave it to boil for 1-2 minutes. Now switch off the stove. Ater a while add lemon juice & serve it with aapam or idiyyapam.

Note: u can cook the splitted green gram ¾ th but I like to cook it well. You should not sauté onion for long time. Coconut milk preparation is mentioned in my Ada prathaman recipe.
